The Easiest Way To Import iPhone Photos Into Adobe Lightroom Classic

    Divider Line
It used to be that importing iPhone, or iPad, photographs into Lightroom Classic was a complicated process. Fortunately, recent improvements to the Adobe Lightroom Mobile for iOS App have streamlined this essential process. In this video tutorial, I will show you two ways to import your iPhone photographs into your Lightroom Classic Catalog with minimal effort!

Method 1: Single Photo Import

  1. Find Your Photo Inside Apple Photos: Select an image within the Apple Photos App on your phone.
  2. Share A Copy With The Lightroom Mobile App: Tap on Apple’s Share button and then choose the Lightroom Mobile icon. Before you can do this you must have the Adobe Lightroom Mobile App installed on your mobile device. Select the Launch Lightroom Now option if you want to check on the import progress.
  3. Automatic Cloud Sync: Lightroom Mobile will upload this image to your Adobe account cloud and then it will send a full-resolution copy of your new image down to your hard drive as long as you are connected to the internet. Your new image will be automatically added into your Lightroom Catalog.
  4. Launch Lightroom Classic: Go to the “All Synced Photos” grouping within Lightroom Classic on your computer to begin working with your new iPhone image. That’s it; Import complete!

Method 2: Importing an Entire Album

  1. Launch Lightroom Mobile: Open up the Lightroom Mobile App on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Access Camera Roll: Tap on the new Device button in the lower left corner of the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Choose Album: Select a batch of images or an entire Apple Photos Album that you would like to Import.
  4. Import To Collection: Tap the Import button and then activate the Add to Lightroom Album (Collection) option. Create a new Collection if needed, or you can add these iPhone photos into one of your existing Collections.
  5. Launch Lightroom Classic: Ensure that the Cloud Sync feature is enabled inside of Lightroom Classic on your computer and that all synchronization tasks are complete.
  6. Locate Your New Photos: To find your new images, go to the All Synced Photos grouping and then sort by Added Order to view your latest import.

You can effortlessly import your iPhone photos into Lightroom Classic using either of these methods. And once your iPhone photos have been imported then you can use all of Lightroom Classic’s extensive image organizing and editing capabilities to enhance your new mobile photographs. Happy editing!
