The brilliant engineers at Adobe have been pouring their considerable brain power into improving the Adobe Lightroom for Mobile App for past two years. So much has improved since this App was first introduced that I have decided to completely redo all of my old Adobe Lightroom for Mobile App tutorials starting with this one.
The Adobe Lightroom CC for Mobile App is a great way for the Adobe Creative Cloud subscribers to display, enhance, and share their work from virtually anywhere in the world. Before we can discuss the Adobe Lightroom CC for Mobile App’s strengths though we need to clear up a some confusion about where you can get this App and who can use it.
Device specific versions of the Lightroom CC for Mobile Apps are available for free at the Apple App Store and at the Google Play Store for Android devices.
It is true that anyone with a smartphone can use this App for free but all of the synchronization features that connect the Lightroom CC for Mobile App to your Lightroom Desktop Catalog are only available to Adobe Creative Cloud subscribers. The ability to enhance digital camera raw file inside of this powerful App is also available for Adobe Creative Cloud Subscribers only.
So what does Adobe Lightroom CC for Mobile offer? Well much like the desktop version of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, this is a professional-grade digital photography workflow tool. Tops on my list of the Adobe Lightroom CC for Mobile’s strongest features is its elegant Presentation Mode.
With Presentation Mode enabled, you can hand your mobile device over to someone else and let them explore a Collection of your favorite photographs. The person holding your tablet gets to flip through your best images, and zoom in where they want, at their own pace. This is a tremendous way to show off your work and the setup is completely painless!
The Lightroom CC for Mobile App also offers most of the image editing tools that we are accustomed to using everyday in the desktop version. I love the ability to work with almost all of my favorite Develop Module Tools without having to sit down at my computer. With this App, I can edit a copy of my synchronized images while I am at home or away.
With the latest round of updates (mid-2017) the Adobe Lightroom CC for Mobile App now includes all of the exposure, white balance, noise reduction, and the local adjustment tools that I rely on everyday while working on my images using the desktop version. Now you can use this App to edit your raw files on your laptop, desktop, smartphone, or tablet. You can start working with one device then switch over to another device and pick up right where you left off.
This is already a powerful tool and it just keeps getting better and better!
